Aulaseriene / The Aula Series

World-class chamber music in the aura of Edvard Munch.

Role: Founder & Artistic Director. Ongoing project since 2020.

Launched in August 2020, Aulaseriene is a new concert series that aspires to create uplifting, world-class chamber music experiences. Its locations are two of Norway’s most renowned and unique venues, both built on the heritage of Edvard Munch; the historic Oslo University Aula, with its marble walls famously covered by Munch’s grandiose paintings, and Ramme in Hvitsten, his summer location from 1910 onwards, which was recently reopened as a new and complete destination for fine art, culture and locally sourced cuisine.

With concerts every last weekend of the month, both international artists and young Norwegian performers who are at the verge of their careers, get together to perform some of our most treasured music, as well as new commissions and hidden gems from the chamber music repertoire.

Aulaseriene is currently a three-year project generously supported by Rammestiftelsen and Sparebankstiftelsen as well as Grev Wedels Plass Auksjoner and others. One of its main goals is to collaborate with other established chamber music concepts and organisers to help build audiences for classical music across the country.

Having developed this project from ground up, I am grateful for the support and advice from numerous people underway. We are looking forward to welcoming every one of you to our monthly concerts – and with time also international audiences. You will not only get to experience world class chamber music, but also some of Edvard Munch’s greatest artworks both in Oslo and at Ramme. Please visit our website (in Norwegian) for more info.
